HIV
Reading articles about HIV and AIDS in Nija/ Africa just makes me feel sad, i mean why are pple suffering due to lack of information. It is seen as an abormination to talk talk about SEX and CONTRACEPTIVES. People( especially those of the older generation), think anyone that talks the talk sure does the walk meaning if you talk bout sex openly you sure have to be active. This is a misconception and i believe we all need to arm ourselves with the truth depending on the way we see it. I remember my growing up days where my mum, bless her could not talk to my sisters about girls developing into women, the whole cycle was ttoo much for her to handle but believe my dad did his best to buy us books to read and ask questions. My dear mum would go behind me reading my diaries and sniffing thru my stuff!!! meeen that would always send me fricking mad, but it never gave me the info i needed on how to handle guys and all. I hope i'll be better with my only baby girl.
I remember when i was preggy and i asked to have the tests done i swear i could have lost the babies cos of the tension before the results came thru, i imagined everything and anything at a point i couldnt even sleep but i thank God all that's gone now and i can only hope, pray and try to make pple see why this SEX issue should be discussed in full view. The only way to help the issue is to face it and not shove it under religion. A lot of religious places would help by giving info on it and encouraging pple to speak up, marriages are packing 'cos of sex issues but no one is addressing these( the husby likes it a certain way, the wifey doesnt know how abeg ask from fellow humans don die in silence) make i rest me hands and mouth here biko, but i do hope to get a crusade going real soon......
